NO COSTLY REPUBLIC PLEBISCITE
We just spent $190 million on a postal survey on same-sex marriage. Now, PM Turnbull wants another expensive postal survey - on making Australia a republic.
Australians had their say on the republic issue in 1999. A vast majority of people in every state and territory except the ACT voted to preserve the status quo.
Aussie families are struggling with high costs of living, low real wages growth and a monumental tax burden. The government should be focused on the real issues and not expensive, personal pet projects.

Say NO to an expensive republic plebiscite!
To whom it may concern,
We, the undersigned, express our strong disapproval of PM Turnbull’s proposal for a postal survey on making Australia a republic. It is irresponsible to suggest spending millions in taxpayer funds on another postal survey just after its $190 million postal survey on same-sex marriage.
Ordinary families are struggling with high costs of living, low real wages growth and a monumental tax burden that is set to go up as our $600 billion gross public debt continues to balloon.
Government should prioritise solutions to these real problems instead of contemplating an expensive postal survey on an issue that Australians overwhelmingly voted against in 1999.
