Scott Morrison Channels His Inner ATA

In his first press conference as Treasurer, Scott Morrison MP has declared that "Australia does not have a revenue problem – it has a spending problem"

This is a welcome change for taxpayers after years of governments  attempting to squeeze more and more out of hardworking Aussie households. But why does this phrase sound so familiar?
"Australia does NOT have a revenue problem. We do not even have a ‘deficit’ problem. We have an OVERSPENDING problem." ATA Blog Post, Labor's Budget Lie, 29 April 2013

"The Commonwealth doesn’t have a revenue problem – it has an overspending problem" ATA Media Release, Taxpayers Welcome Desperately Needed Tax Reform - But Not Tax Hikes, 30 March 2015

Australia does not have a revenue problem. It has an overspending problem” - ATA Media Release, Taxpayers Reject GST Tax Hike, 21 July 2015

They say you need to repeat something 7-10 times before the average person will remember it, looks like our new Treasurer got it in only five!

Scott Morrison also mentioned in his first interview his desire for "lower, fairer, simpler taxes".

From the letter we sent him earlier thsi week congratulating him on his appointment:
"A nation has never succeeded in taxing itself into prosperity, and  a smaller tax burden on families with a simpler, fairer, flatter tax system is desperately needed"

Jokes aside, this is an excellent development heralding a new direction for the government in protecting taxpayers, and we look forward to rapid action in this field.
