LETTER TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVE

Greetings,

I write to you as a concerned voter regarding the reckless behaviour of the Murray-Darling Basin Authority as it steals much needed water from farmers during a drought. The mismanagement of water resources threatens the survival of an industry which is not only key to our economic well-being but also a cornerstone of our national history and culture. Australian farmers have lived on and carefully managed the land for generations.

I ask that you push for investigations of criminal corruption in the Murray Darling Basin Authority.

The MDBA reserved over 70 percent of the Murray-Darling for environmental purposes, restricting farmers’ access to life giving water.

The MDBA is taking precious water away from struggling farmers and redirecting it to favoured enterprises and environmental crusades. To add insult to injury, the MDBA has used satellites to spy on farmers and falsely accuse them of storing too much rainwater. They have gone on to publicly release satellite imagery of these farmers’ homes. I demand the MDBA be held to account for corruption and abuse of power.

Get the MDBA out of the water buy-back business. The MDBA has wasted $13 billion of my money as a taxpayer.

Help farmers; helps taxpayers; help our nation by withdrawing the Murray Darling Basin Plan immediately. It is time to investigate criminal corruption within the MDBA and fix the drought so farmers and towns can survive this drought.
