SCRAP THE TAX ON AUSSIE TRUCK DRIVERS

The Aussie trucking industry is facing total collapse unless something is done immediately. The collapse of the trucking industry would:

  • Bankrupt at least 50% of Aussie trucking businesses

  • Destroy our supply chains, resulting in empty supermarket shelves

  • Destroy jobs across multiple supply chain industries

In a time when Aussie trucking businesses are already struggling, this huge tax will destroy jobs and make your grocery bills hit record highs! If this tax issue isn’t fixed immediately, you’ll pay more.

We’re not going to let this happen and we need your help to fight back!

  • When the former Federal Government cut the fuel excise from 44.2c/L to 22.1c/L, it reduced costs for consumers but also shrunk its own revenue stream. Instead of accepting a smaller taxpayer-funded income, the Morrison Government instead forced Australia’s trucking industry to make up the difference.

Previously, truckers received a tax credit of 17.8c/L but this was cut to 4.3c/L from March 30, meaning truckers are now forced to pay an extra 13.5c/L.

It’s an enormous cost, amounting to a loss of funds no business can absorb - especially under the circumstances, in which no warning was given whatsoever.

  • If the Aussie trucking industry goes under, expect to see the cost of household items skyrocket even more. Inflation is already making it hard to make ends meet, and things will only get worse if the government doesn’t take urgent action today!

  • Our organisation will deploy our resources to lobby the newly formed Labor government and demand they urgently amend the disastrous tax issues facing the industry. To do that, we need your support.

  • Sign up today, donate, or share this campaign with your friends and family members asking them to get involved. Aussie truckers need all the support they can get right now.

  • For years, a trucker’s entire business has been structured around the promise of a significant monthly rebate. With most businesses operating with incredibly slim margins, this reliable chunk of money coming in on a regular basis has been worked into budgets and is used to cover taxes and other business expenses. The result of these wholesale tax changes by the former government has meant many trucking companies haven’t been able to adjust their entire business structure in time, and are facing net losses in the near future.
